Abstract
The long-term treatment of schizophrenia remains a major challenge to mental health professionals. Schizophrenia itself is a heterogeneous disorder and there is also considerable heterogeneity in drug response. A variety of factors may ınfluence this response. In th ıs review, in addition to there factors, the long-term treatment strategies, the adverse effects which can be seen during the maintenence treatment, their prevention and the compliance shall be discussed.
Şizofreninin uzun dönem tedavisi, ruh sa ğlığı uzmanları için önemli bir sorun oluşturmaktadır. Şizofreni türdeş bir hastalık olmadığı gibi, tedaviye verdi ği yanıt da türdeş değildir. Bir çok değişik etken bu yan ıtı etkileyebilir. Bu gözden geçirme yaz ısında; bu etkenlerin yanısıra, uzun dönemdeki tedavi seçenekleri, tedavi süresince ortaya çıkabilen istenmeyen etkiler, bunlar ın önlenebilmesi ve ilaç tedavisine uyum konular tartışılmıştır.
