Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma is a specific type of astrocytoma generally observed in young patients and supratentorially located. A 16 year old girl with left temporal supe ıfacial pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma is discussed. The case was in accordance with literature clinically and morphologically. 13 months after the operation local recurrence occurred and the patient died. Because of rare occurrence of pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma literature is evaluated in this article

Pleomorfik Ksantoastrositom (PKA) genellikle supratentorial yerle şimli, genç hastalarda görülen özel formda bir astrositom türüdür. 16 yaşında bayan hastaya ait sol temporal superfasial lokalizasyonlu bir pleomorfik ksantoastrositom olgusu klinikopatolojik özellikleriyle sunulmaktad ır. Klinik ve mo ıfolojik özellikleriyle literatüre uygun pleomorfik ksantoastrositom özelliklerine sahip olguda operasyonu takiben 13 ay içinde lokal nüks gözlenmi ş ve hasta bu nedenle kaybedilmi ştir. Pleomorfik ksantoastrositoma nadir görülmesi nedeniyle dünya literatürü taranarak bu çalışmada yeniden gözden geçirildi.
